In total, <strong>over ninety thousand NATO soldiers <\/strong>will be involved who will have <strong>the task of testing the defenses and plans<\/strong> adopted by the Alliance and <strong>the integration between the various forces<\/strong> on the ground to adequately respond to a possible <strong>attack by Russia.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"684\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lithuanianstories.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Brave-Griffin-2024-II-LithuanianPolish-flags-1024x684.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-950\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lithuanianstories.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Brave-Griffin-2024-II-LithuanianPolish-flags-1024x684.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.lithuanianstories.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Brave-Griffin-2024-II-LithuanianPolish-flags-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.lithuanianstories.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Brave-Griffin-2024-II-LithuanianPolish-flags-768x513.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.lithuanianstories.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Brave-Griffin-2024-II-LithuanianPolish-flags-640x427.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.lithuanianstories.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Brave-Griffin-2024-II-LithuanianPolish-flags.jpg 1417w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It is clear that the entire operation has <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lithuanianstories.com\/en\/2022\/08\/17\/lithuania-and-new-scenario-in-europe-strategy-interview\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">a strong deterrent value towards Russia<\/a><\/strong> and, at the same time, it sends an important signal: <strong>NATO is united and ready to face any aggression.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From 21 to 26 April, <strong>an important multinational military exercise<\/strong> took place in the so-called <strong>&#8220;Suwalki Corridor&#8221;<\/strong>, a border strip between Lithuania and Poland, which ends on one side in the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad and on the other with Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With a small number of journalists, <strong>we were invited to a demonstration<\/strong>, which was attended by the Lithuanian <strong>President Gitanas Naus\u0117da and the Polish President Andrzej Duda<\/strong>, their respective <strong>chiefs of defense Rupsys and Kukula<\/strong>, and the <strong>Lithuanian Defense Minister Laurynas Kas\u010di\u016bnas.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"721\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lithuanianstories.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Brave-Griffin-2024-II-RupsysKukula-1024x721.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-951\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lithuanianstories.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Brave-Griffin-2024-II-RupsysKukula-1024x721.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.lithuanianstories.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Brave-Griffin-2024-II-RupsysKukula-300x211.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.lithuanianstories.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Brave-Griffin-2024-II-RupsysKukula-768x541.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.lithuanianstories.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Brave-Griffin-2024-II-RupsysKukula-640x451.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.lithuanianstories.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Brave-Griffin-2024-II-RupsysKukula.jpg 1417w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Soldiers from the Lithuanian, Polish, Portuguese and the US armies<\/strong> were involved in the exercise, called <strong>&#8220;Brave Griffin 2024-II&#8221;<\/strong>, who implemented <strong>the bilateral plan between Lithuania and Poland: &#8220;Orsha&#8221;.<\/strong> A plan that the two countries have been working on for a long time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Suwalki Corridor is considered one of the weak points<\/strong> on the eastern flank of the Alliance. A prompt response from NATO in the event of an attack is necessary <strong>to avoid cutting off the Baltics from the rest of Europe<\/strong>. And from the rest of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/LithuanianStoriesMarina\/videos\/382815391232103\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">the NATO countries.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"684\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lithuanianstories.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Brave-Griffin-2024-II-Strategic-plans-1024x684.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-952\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lithuanianstories.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Brave-Griffin-2024-II-Strategic-plans-1024x684.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.lithuanianstories.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Brave-Griffin-2024-II-Strategic-plans-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.lithuanianstories.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Brave-Griffin-2024-II-Strategic-plans-768x513.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.lithuanianstories.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Brave-Griffin-2024-II-Strategic-plans-640x427.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.lithuanianstories.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Brave-Griffin-2024-II-Strategic-plans.jpg 1417w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In the exercise, which took place near Alytus, a few kilometers from the Polish border,<\/strong> the reaction capabilities, strategies and <strong>operations to be carried out in case of danger were tested.<\/strong> Two hundred combat units were on the field and <strong>the air forces were also involved with F16 fighters<\/strong> which currently have the task of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/kam.lt\/en\/data-on-interceptions-of-aircraft-completed-near-the-baltic-states-borders-on-april-15-21-2024\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">surveillance of Lithuanian airspace.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Presidents of Lithuania and Poland,<\/strong> during the press conference, spoke about further cooperation between the two countries. For example, for <strong>the creation of a common logistics center for the ammunition <\/strong>needed for missile systems. In particular, <strong>the HIMARS system<\/strong>s.
